I had a nice clear day over the ditch but the seeing was not that good. There was a nice long filament present but no notable prominences. This image was captured using the Coronado SM40 filter + DMK51 video camera.

I have just added a closeup image of the large filament.

SM40+BF30+1.6x Barlow+BMK51, focal length about 1312mm.

Nice full disc George. You nailed the filament no worries.
The 40mm packs a bit of a punch with your DMK51.

Thank you Ralph, I'm happy with the performance of the external SM40. I have another external SM40 Etalon but dropped it and it's out of collimation, currently I'm having it repaired, so it's single stack with the SM40 for now. But, if the weather stays clear tomorrow and the seeing dramatically improves then I'll take out the double stacked external SM90's.

No worries George, Look forward to that.
(PS) I confess I always start with the big gun and if conditions don't support it I simply back off.

Nice pics George I woild like to see that filament with the DS 90. I'll post my shot with the SS Lunt 100 .

I work the opposite way, I use the smallest and lightest scope/Etalon filter for a quick capture. If the seeing turns out to be O.K. then I'll take out the larger Etalons which means add more counterweights and re-balancing the scope etc... By then it clouds over and I end up packing the gear away.

Fair enough George, I swap filter and cameras and scopes all the time to suit what I am doing. If cloud threatens that much I take a best guess and just use one set up.;)
