It should be noted that the money amounts mentioned in the article are transfer payments, paid by one club to another, not player salaries. Nevertheless, some of the salaries paid are obscene, to say the least.

As a rule of thumb the player will receive around 10% of the transfer fee.
Real Madrid is the richest sporting club of any code, this player's salary will be in the millions of dollars per year on top of the fee.

I think also steven that if they formally make a written request to their club for a transfer that they will not receive any fee for themselves or their greedy agents, so needless to say they just keep on sulking until the club have to get rid!
bale is a very very good player....... but he would score another ten goals if he could just stay on his bloody feet!!!
