Hi all!
I spent the weekend in Sydney at my mum's place at Rockdale and took my new camera with me. My mum has a big Banksia tree in the backyard and this Rainbow Lorikeet was having a great time with the flowers.
On the Saturday morning I walked down to Brighton-le-Sands for sunrise and then came back via the Rockdale Wetlands. Now, unless you grew up in this area you probably wouldn't know that such a place exists. I remember when I was growing up there were swamps all around but over time they have been reclaimed. Anyway, I'm not a fan of Ibis - they're annoying pests in my opinion - but I did find it interesting to see how they nest. The other interesting thing about this image is that it was taken at ISO6400! I have done a little processing but the original image was surprisingly low on noise.
Cheers,
Mario
