Actually I find it harder to sleep when it is new Moon and clear. :)

A full Moon can disturb a good night's sleep, scientists believe.
Researchers found evidence of a "lunar influence" in a study of 33 volunteers sleeping in tightly controlled laboratory conditions.
When the Moon was round, the volunteers took longer to nod off and had poorer quality sleep, despite being shut in a darkened room, Current Biology reports. They also had a dip in levels of a hormone called melatonin that is linked to natural-body clock cycles.

The general term for people influenced by the moon is "lunatic"
They got locked up years ago. Now they run the country:P

Yeah, I saw that. I admit I am one of the people that have trouble sleeping around the full moon. This has been going on for over 60 years now and my daughter has the same problem. This sensitivity to lunar influences, whether tidal related or whatever, definitely exists.

and I have nothing to do with running the country, but I am sure my ex-wife would be in favour of locking me up.

I saw a guy at the end of one of the news segments mention that it's something from the distant past, when humans used to celebrate 'making it another month' on the full moon, long into the night. Kinda like a 'party clock'

Few things are as relaxing and soothing as a full moon shining through your bedroom window.

What disturbs my sleep is a new moon clear night and I am not outside!

Folks it is simple we evolved from organisms that were completely dependant on natural cycles and mutated in concert with them. We all carry the genes of countless simple organisms that lived in the intertidal zone of ancient coastlines that were our ancestors.

I find it not curious that the human female menstrual cycle is close to a Lunar cycle.

We even divide our work weeks and weekends into sub multiples of this same cycle.
