View Full Version here: : WANTED: Dell C600 laptop memory
256MB would be nice. I wouldn't say no to 128MB.
Someone out there must have an old dell laptop...and if you do, c'mon, it's time you upgraded to something better... sell me your RAM :)

pc 133 should still work even if the other ram is pc100. It should simply run at the slower speed. My brother has 3200 ram running along side 2100 and it does this. I assume it would be the same for older ram.

will see what I have, how many do you want?
How many?! Now there's a response I wasn't expecting.
There are only two slots. One is already filled. So just one of the largest you can find will be more than enough thanks, Houghy

Terry, I bought some PC133 memory for my Lappy via the forum and it worked OK in PC100 slots. A search on ebay for PC100 Laptop Ram shows new PC100 256Mb modules for $82 (buy it now) on ebay. If you are willing to bid 256Mb prices are starting at around $20.
Yup I know. I was just answering Houghy's question. I think the C600 only does pc100 anyway, so pc133 will still be pc100 even if it's on it's own in the machine. Must look up the specs for that. Doesn't worry me too much either way.
I had a look as well. It's fairly cheap. I like ebay, but I'm in no real hurry for the RAM, so I took a punt on the friendly folk around here ;) I'd rather give Houghy the money than a complete stranger

Mojo a mate of mine services photocopiers and he has just recently pulled out 20 128 meg pc133 memory chips, I think he wants $10 for each one but I cannot get a hold of him tonight to confirm. they are all laptop memory
Groovy. If they look like this (http://www.crucial.com/store/MPartspecs.Asp?mtbpoid=0DF9B34AA5CA 7304&prs=USNEXTAG), I'll take one, thank you. ie. 144-pin SODIMM modules.

How do I find the RAM slots on my laptop to see if i've got any slots free?
I've got 512M ram in this thing at the moment. I really want to put more in it than just another 128M to make a significant difference to how it runs.

mike there should be a square flap panel underneath the laptop. unscrew it and you should see 2 ramslots. SInce you have 512mb of ram, you either have 1 slot used or both.

Ok Mojo et al, I have 4 of these memory sticks
pc133s-333-542
128mb sync 133MHz CL3
$10 each plus postage
Installed the RAM. Let memtest86 test the ram thoroughly for an hour. Ram checks out fine. Thanks Houghy.
I recommend Houghy's bargain RAM warehouse
