Celestron CPC 800 XLT go to 8" SCT fastar/hyperstar compatible telescope bought in March this year and has never been used. The scope comes with the standard field tripod, 9 x 50 finder, 1.25" visual back, 1.25" diagonal back, manual & E-Lux 25mm eyepiece. Comes with the two original packing boxes which are rather large so pickup is preferred or courier at buyer's expense. A bargain at $1950. Now sold to a very a very friendly and articulate IISpacer.

Bump, still for sale at this bargain price. Not as cheap as an 8" Dob but a whole lot more sophisticated.

Hi Steve. Thanks for your email. I am concerned about 2 things regarding the CPC 800. The weight (I'm an old coot with a bad back and can't lift too well) and I'm not sure about the power pack that I've heard you need with one of these...does yours come with one? If not, what should I be looking at in that regard. Thanks for your help. Steve

The scope weighs in at 20kg not including the tripod. I use a Celestron 17AH Powertank to run the scope however there are plenty of power supplies available which do the same job.

Further to power supplies Steve, you can also purchase 12V switch mode power supplies connected to the mains which are available at a modest price through Dick Smith or Jaycar.

thanks for the info. With my bad back I'm thinking that with the tripod stand it would be a bit heavy for me lift around. Maybe I'm wrong though. How do you go lifting it? And how come you have never used it? Sorry to ask so many questions.....I am interested though.
Thanks. Steve

I have no trouble lifting the scope Steve, I'm still a spry near 63 year old. I can think of a few ways to overcome the lifting problem e.g. hire a slave for the night, fit castor wheels to the tripod (for flat areas only) or don't buy the scope at all. I bought two of these CPC's earlier in the year, my son has one but I bought an 8" EdgeHD model here off the forums as well so this one is not required. Cheers, Steve

Good thinking. I like the slave idea. Would you take $1800 delivered for the scope. It's about my limit. Understand if you're not interested, but let me know. Thanks. Steve.
