i don't know if its just me or does anyone else see a small bright light at the bottom of the moon tonight? I was just looking through my binoculars and spotted this an hour ago and its still there its almost directly south and not too far from the bottom edge

Daine, As soon as I read this I had to get my scope and have a look. I see it too. It looks like a reflection off the edge of a crater. It seems to come and go as the moon moves through my field of view. Someone with imaging capabilities should try to capture it and post it so we can have a closer look.:)

That's a mountain or even a crater edge that's rising up from beyond the illuminated horizon, catching the sun's rays before the rest of the surroundings do. If you slowly scan the Moon's terminator, you'll find dozens of these, & over there course of a couple of hours they will be seen to change as the sun creeps over the lunarscape.
I'm looking at that "light" that you mention now. If you look closely, you'll see some smaller dots surounding that "light". These are other highland spots catching the sun's rays.
