Well due to the huge temperature variations in Melbourne at the moment the seeing is averaging 3-4/10! but simply had to have a go at Jupiter with my 900 last night.

Best of 150 frames split into R,G,B, 1.3 x re-sampling Bell, stacked and processed in Registax. ME Deconvolution, re-combined and unsharp masking in AstraImage.

Interested in what setting others are using on the 900.
My settings: 1/20 exp, gain 60%, contrast 100%, brightness 50%, saturation 100%, picture enhancement OFF (does anyone use this?).

John.

Hi John. Not a bad piccy mate for 3-4/10.

My normal settings of late for the 900: (using Vrecord) No idea on the exposure, but its the second position back from full left on the slider.

10FPS

gain 70-75%

Gamma zero

Brightness 45%

Contrast 50%

Saturation 100%

Picture enhancement off.

All these settings are with Jupiter with 2X barlow & 1/ 75mm extension tube. If 2 extension tubes used the exposure setting will be different.

Also I make sure YUY2 colour space/compression is nominated.

Hi John,

Thats better than what I produced last night, although I saw glimpses of fantastic 3D detail and colours like you captured.

The onion van was around and he thought I needed another load, so all my images reeked with onion.

Nice image. Great image scale. Well done.

I've performed the 900 upgrade to my 840 and now have full control of the contrast slider.

However, I've noticed it doesn't appear to change the image or have any effect at all on the preview screen whether I have it all the way to the left or the right?

There's no noticeable change on the screen at all, whatever I do to the contrast slider.

Thoughts?
