Hi there,
Havent had much luck with sky & time etc, Last new moon my Lappy siezed out Leyburn, so did some NEQ6p tracked only captures, with the 'L' series 70-200 Lens , ,
This image is a result of 27 x 90secs, 200mm, F3.2, ICNR, 600D . .
I think the signal is good, though my quick proccesing on this has left a bit to be disired, may go again another time !
Another Problem I had was that on getting home, my home PC actually started freezing/shutting down as well, , simple fix tho, Power supply, but the lappy needs to have windows re-written apparently, which is being done by mate next week : ) see what that does, prob lost evrything tho, which is not a lot actually : ) hasnt been an astro busy couple seasons hey : )
Yeah, so quick proccess left some colour unattended properly, some red background about and the yellow area of neb looking a bit washed to me aswell, , ! Also, if obtain a better ballance, might be able to lift the general levels further as it appears a little on the dark side ? ?
Anyway, thought to drop it in as havent posted a pic in a while !
Thoughts and comments appreciated , , ,
HavagoodN !

That's good Bob!

A little more contrast and brightness on the nebula would make it spot on.
Looks pretty smooth for the amount of data.

Cheers,

Justin.

Nice work, Bob. The data looks pretty good... might be worth having a bit of a play around with it for a bit more saturation and contrast

Cheers Laurie, hope your injury is on the better side of fair by now champ

Thanx for the confirmation Ian

Appreciate your feedback Justin, a first at ISO1600, so, am happy with the smoothness also, I shoud have another go at this, colours were going a bit wrong for me by this stage and were becoming out of whack in my view, , Ill avoid shortcutting next time - which hopfully give some room for some brightness etc, Cheers for that

Thanx Louie, I kinda dig the dark dust lane hanging out there like that, may have went a bit much tho kinda different

Cheers Marc'o, tried at 200mm once before but needed more and longer subs, and yep, 200mm still catches all the goodness :P

Thanx for feedback Rick, Its not often I get more than 10 subs, so, much better SNR with 20 odd, im learning & appreciate your confirmation on this point

Thanx Steve, the 'L' lens's do a pretty fair job at this. if was able to guide, I would'ave like to have gone 2+min subs ! I'm sure you'll like what the lens can do. All the best

Cheers Dave, thanx for you feedback, I will have another go from scratch mate, hopfully improve the image , , I did something not quite right early in the processing which exasperated things towards the end ? All in the name of obtaining experience, apparently ;)
Appreciate your input, All the best
