Cloud has been pretty persistant this week and last night was no exception although it was hot and balmly . Instead of dwelling on the weather jink thought i would treat my lady to a night out on the town with a romantic dinner and a walk up at kings park :love2: .When we got up to the park about mid evening the clouds had parted somewhat , the stars where unveiled , the city below looked great {usally the bane of my LP problems} and there was a great carnival atmosphere going on {there was a classical music concert on }.We just laid down on the grass along with many other couples dotted along the main greenway just taking in the atmosphere, the view and the stars . Just goes to show you can still get a lot out of viewing the sky whenever the chance may be . Wish i had taken my camera along , i see a great opportunity for one shot ....along the main throughfare there is a strand of light coloured gum trees that are highlighted by soft coloured floodlights , walking past and looking up i caught Orion just grazing the upper reachs of one tree , would have been a nice pic .....ill have to revisit sometime this week and try :)

How romantic for your missus! Go out stolling in the night and still the stars come first. lol
yeah thats a typical romantic outing for cheryl and me too... we'd be walking along and she'd be saying something D&M to me and i'd be "eh? what did you say? I was looking at orion" sometimes i think i like the stars too much. :P

lol,
my Cheryl thumps me as soon as I look up!
(she likes the sky too, "but there's a time and place for everything", she says)

Geez glad my wifes name isn't Cheryl. (no offence)
My wife actually comes out and looks for Satellites, Meteors, and other Non identifyable objects, and has a look through my scope too. Then again I am not the most romantic person alive, I am happy she shows some sort of interest, but I think she gets quite PO'ed when I talk about projects I have in my mind and getting the EQ6 :P Which is quite often. I now have an idea about making a crayford focuser eeeeek.
lol!
everyone should have a "cheryl" :P

My girl says that she is an astronomy widow. She comes over watches my tv and I am out watching the stars. She says she might as well go home and watch the tv at her house. No romance here, what you see is what you get.
