This is my first attempt at capturing the Sun.
Cloud has finally gone!
The thing I found very helpful was to plug a monitor into the lappy so I could see the screen outside. The lappy LCD screen is useless in sunshine.
ED80 tracking on EQ1 with little EQ1 drive box, Solar Filter, Toucam Pro II, 120 frames stacked in Registax, no processing.

Nice work Ken! Now all you need is a sunspot!
The CRT outside is a good idea! I've frequently been frustrated trying to look at the laptop screen in the glary sun.. focusing is a nightmare!
i found LCD screens hard to see outside too.
well done ken :) too bad theres no sunspotts at the mo :(

Thanks guys,
I searched and I waited, but alas, no spots today. But I had fun and my kids loved seeing it!
Yes Houghy, the dust bunnies!!!! and the trusty little EQ1 does quite a remarkable job. I am suprised how accurate the little motor box is!

Yep Steve, the little EQ1 and even littler 'drive box' actually work quite well!
I had Sol on screen without moving for over 1 hour!!!! Not bad for a $170 mount and drive for anyone starting out and short of a quid.
