Following on from the giant leap forward in negotiations with the PC, where we had access to their new toilet for our observing session, I have had follow up communications with their Treasurer.

I have asked if we can have access to the following in order of importance (in my opinion)
1. The toilet. I have proposed to mop it out after our sessions (it got quite dirty last Friday) If they leave us a mop.
2. Electricity - for imagers etc
3. Access to somewhere to sit and preferably with access to a fridge and Pie Warmer.

They have it on agenda to discuss at their next meeting.
Also how access can be granted, whether by our own key, or pickup from them on the way, or whatever.

As thankyou, I have offered to host a group of their members at the PC to show them some of what keeps us coming back for more.
This could potentially be August 2 or 3 (Friday or Saturday) weather permitting. Looking for volunteers to help with biggish scopes, laser pointers (<1mw of course) and intersting facts and stories to amuse any participants that turn up. [New moon is Wednesday 7th - I will be on vacation the following weekend].

I hope you agree this looks promising.
We await the decision of the committee.
Fingers crossed.

(If I have broken any protocol I am sorry, but I have tried to act in the interest of our group. In my communications, I have simply held myself out to be a member of Ice in Space)

Well done Allan.

I will try to make it along to the observing night to assist with sky tours if at all possible.

Great initiative Al and I hope it leads to a better affiliation with the members of the PC. Just having access to the toilet last Friday night would have made the ladies present feel more at ease.
To have more access would be even better, so we will keep the fingers crossed. It should also lead to a better participation of future and current attendees knowing that better amenities are available. Cheers:thumbsup:
