This is an animation of the major prominence on Saturday the 29June 2013.
Clouds beat me out off the lift off, however this clearly shows the twisting motion of the material just prior to departure.

It was about an hour and a half George, David. 500 frames every 1 1/2 minutes, with the DMK51. I need to go and redo the batch in PS CS6 and get rid of the processing artifacts. I did not see them in the batch process until I registered all the images. When time permits I guess.
I am going to use the ASI 120 for this sort of work from now on, as I think it will produce much sharper frames.

that's an interesting call using the ASI - faster frame rate?

That's the idea. About 8x

Ralph, are you going to use the ASI 120 for closeups only and the DMK51 for full disc or are you switching completly over to the ASI 120?

Great work! I'd re-register the frames so they all line up perfectly - it'll make the animation even better! :)

Would not part with the DMK51 George unless I up grade to a much hi res camera. I think it is the best value for your buck for result around. The ASI 120 was purchased soley with the proms in mind. It is very appealing because of its many resolution selections and frame rates. It I hope suits prom work perfectly. I have not tried in anger yet as it is on its way back from a friend, but soon.

I did Mike, by hand in PS CS6.
I noticed the walking as I did and had to batch crop the stack.
I put it down to the fact that it is hard to guide on overexposed disc as the limb is ever changing. I have figured a new way to fix the disc in the frame of view but work and weather have not permitted a trial. I also dismantled my set up for the eclipse and have not re polar alined it. I will do it first clear night. That will solve 60% of the issue.
Any other tips.:eyepop:
