Tricky one! Taken from Singleton, NSW.
RCX400 14" with 0.75 AP reducer (working at F6.1).
LRBG: 240:230:180:180. 10 min subs.
HaOiii 4.5 and 4 hours. 15 min subs.
I struggled to bring out the ray while controlling the noise.

I hope you like it,

Enrique

Hi Enrique,
Certainly a tuff target!

Even though there's noise you picked up good detail in the ray.

Cheers,

Justin.

Great job on this difficult target, I imaged this few years ago and found the main v fairly easy but the faint streamers a difficult challenge to get. Well done.
Clear skies Ken.

WOW,just wow.

It was images like these years ago that fired my fascination with astronomy. I remember looking at the filamentous Veil Nebula photos and just dreaming...

Great capture.

How are you able to capture 15 min subs and not run into the trouble of field rotation?

I start to notice field rotation after bout 5 min.

Whats your secret?

John

Thank you all for your kind comments. Regarding John's question:

I have spent a lot of time, and still do, polar aligning the telescope. I checked it frequently. I am getting to the point that the correction required is smaller that the effect caused by tightening the screws.....I am now slowly tightening the screws in parallel with two allen keys simultaneously hopping that the reference star does not move.

I also use off axis guiding with the camera (SX Lodestar) as close as possible to the main camera chip. I can do better in this regard but I need some adapters.

I hope this helps,

Thanks,

Enrique
