Here’s another from the IISAC2013 star party, captured at Lostock Dam on the 3rd night of the star party.
The Milky Way rises on the left, and on the right you can see the satellite galaxies orbiting the Milky Way – the Large and Small Magellanic Clouds. Some green airglow structure can be seen streaking through the LMC, too.
- Large (http://www.mikesalway.com.au/download/434)
- Blog (http://www.mikesalway.com.au/milky-way-and-magellanic-clouds-over-lostock-dam/)
Canon 6D, Samyang 14mm @ f/2.8, 30s exposure, ISO6400. It’s actually slightly bigger than a normal frame in height – I made a vertical panorama from two images with a lot of overlap.
Thanks for looking.
