Hi to all

Here's the result of my latest experimentation with the 36.8cm (14.5") Ritchey Chretien. Actually I wasn't going to bother posting it when I saw some of the recently posted images of this object taken with much smaller telescopes. Anyway, for what it's worth, here it is. The centre is a bit burnt out as I always underestimate the brightness of this thing. It was also taken under pretty windy conditions.

Cheers

Steve

Colours look a little muddied to me... also looks like there is a bit of vignettting (flats a bit off/not applied  )

Image scale is pretty impressive. A good effort just the same

Still a nice image of a difficult target, Steve! I had a go at this with my RC10 from suburban skies and didn't get close to the quality of your image.

Cheers,
Rick.

Great image Steve!

I can only dream of imaging like this at the moment.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks Justin. Don't underrate your imaging though.

Thanks Marcus

Thanks Rick

Thanks Peter. Yes I noticed the vignetting when you pointed it out and have now corrected it. Still not sure what happened originally though as I thought my current flats technique was bulletproof.

Thanks very much

Thanks Paul. Could have been better though. Still have some issues with this scope.

These little buggers are a challenge Steve, apart from careful guiding and good collimation the seeing needs to be on ones side too. This looks pretty good...imagine having your new scope up in the Andes :D

Thanks Mike. The seeing with this one certainly left a lot to be desired and as well as this I'm still sorting out issues with the 14.5" but getting there I think.

Thanks Louie. If you had experienced the trouble I've been having getting it up and running it would be more like a nightmare! Hopefully everything is okay now.

Cheers
