I found this cute fluffy Huntsman on the job yesterday. Don't you just want to give it a big cuddle?

I don't do cuddles with Huntsmen. :scared3:

Great macro though.

Very nice shot Barry. Which lens is that?

They're a great pest control service and quite a conversation piece when on the lounge room ceiling. Try not to let them lay eggs behind the fridge or you will wind up with 500 of the little darlings on the kitchen ceiling. If you do decide to remove one from the house they sort of tickle in your hand. It must be all the hairs. Completely harmless to humans though.

Thanks everyone.

David, it was the Canon 100mm L - series macro lens mate.

Nice closeup Baz, we have a couple of big Huntsmen in the woodshed, much to my wife's disgust. They are quite clever in that they will run and hide, but then curious enough to peer out from behind the logs to watch me stack the wood.
One of them was in a log that was about to go into the fireplace, upon opening the fireplace, the little guy realised his peril and ran up my arm, my wife was not amused.

See? He just wanted a cuddle.

I won't tell him that you said that. You'll hurt his feelings and he won't want to cuddle you anymore.

I actually like hunstman. The first four below are ones I photographed in my house. The bottom one was a pet one I kept for a while and then released. I mostly get holconnia immanis or holconia insignis species. I love how when you photograph them face on one of their eyes lights up in the flash. Looks like they've got their headlights on.

Thanks mate. What's not to like? They are practically harmless to humans and provide a wonderful service ridding your house and garden of other nasties.

Cheers Adam you witty man you! ;)
