Last night was very clear of cloud and Moon. Transparency was good.
The cloud held off long enough to collect a decent set of data.
Exposures red 20x4 min, green 20x4 min and blue 28x4 min through the zenith. Camera at -35C.
This is what I think the data should look like 7MB

This is an unstretched 16 bit tiff 61MB

I would be interested to see what others can come up with.
This is what the screens look like at control central. 2MB

Very nice photo Bert.
So much detail and such a wide field of view.

I started on the same field last night - good to see what I might be able to achieve (if I resist the temptation to head off to bed early)
The Command Central image is cool - looks like you use VNC or something similar to control the obs pc remotely. What program is it?

The program is called Logmein. There is a free version for unlimited use.
I bought the full version as it has sound and so I can hear all the warning sounds from MaximDL.

Thanks Ross. My aim with all of this is to make very high quality wide fields and large mosaics showing all objects as 'naturally' as possible. Now I have the equipment under some sort of control all I have to do is get up to speed with my own far from perfect skills/knowledge.

Here is a large version with all frames upsized by a factor of x1.5 before stacking. 11 MB

This improves resolution as with a sensor of 9 micron pixels the image produced by the RH200 is a tad under sampled.

I use logmein as well, I have found it to be very reliable. Always enjoy your images Bert!

You have elongated stars on the left hand side of the image Bert and the background looks a bit green. Perhaps use HLVG to remove the green gradient.
This definitely looks smoother to me.

Thanks Bert
I use Real VNC but the Open GL doesn't work too well with it
I'll have a look at it

Tell me something I do not know! You are quite good at pointing out the bleeding obvious. I wish I had your perspicacity.

You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar? :)

Quite correct and in both cases swat them dead!
