I'm in the process of upsizing my observatory and the old one has to go. It's a 2.65m fiberglass dome, with colorbond walls and galvanised steel frame (both dome and walls). The observatory is 2.4m x 2.4m, with one end having a lower extension (0.6m deep) to house a computer/table etc. making the observatory 3.0 x 2.4m overall. The walls are roughly 1.1m high.

The inside of the walls and dome are lined with painted polystyrene foam insulation to reduce condensation.

The slit cover lifts on & off (wheels on the top of the cover make it easier) and the dome rotates manually.

This observatory has served me well for nearly 20 years and is in very good shape.

Asking $1500 with shipping at buyer's expense (there is at least $2000 in material costs in the observatory).

Forgot to add, the walls, dome track support and dome are separable and designed for transport (the frame is welded with the sections bolted together).

Walls:
2 off 3m x 1.2m
1 off 2.4m x 1.2m
1 off 2.4m x 0.9m
1 off 2.4m x 0.6m

Dome and track separate into 2 sections of 2.7m diameter.

do you have a few shots of the slit opening and some close up shots of the dome and inside shots? how does the track support the dome?

I'll take some shots today. I found I didn't have any shots that were close up.

Anyone have any idea if it would be feasible to bring to NSW?

The slit opening is 75cm (clear).

Rollers on either side of the lit cover guide the cover to the top.

The dome rotates on v-belt 7 pulleys (quite free to move).

There are several handles inside the dome to allow moving the dome while at the scope.

It is possible to transport this on the back of a larger tandem trailer or truck and stay within width restrictions by tipping the dome up 22 degrees using a frame to support it.

I've been asked for a few more photos of the observatory and have included same with this post. The observatory is currently disassembled and housed in a shed. Basically the dome (and slit cover), track, 4 walls and a sloping roof section.
