Good afternoon IceInSpace,

I would like to take this opportunity to promote the commercial version of the SharpSky digital focuser. SharpSky has been available as a self build kit for quite some time and has proven very popular with Astrophotographers from Australia.

As a result of the popularity of the kit I decided to create a Pro version with an integrated dew mitigation heater controller and other useful features.

I have created a website with photographs of the equipment, downloadable user manual and lots of other information :

SharpSky Pro website : www.sharpsky.net

Please check out the website, any feedback or questions very welcome :
innovate@sharpsky.net

Cheers & clear skies,

Dave

Just thought I'd give this thread a bump.

After returning from Astrofest and seeing the proliferation of remote focusers, I just had to have one (spendthrift fever perhaps, possibly caught from close proximity to " travellin light " Dave h0ugh).

Alan Gould talked enthusiastically about his kit version of this product, but I couldn't remember the source.

I'm about to order one of Daves focusers after browsing his site, they have an impressive feature list including temperature compensation (I found that focus shift was an issue at Astrofest as the night temps dropped around 10 degrees between dusk and midnight).

Also included in the unit is a 4 port PC dew PC controller, that alone would cost around $200 if purchased separately, so the current asking price of $AU460 delivered to Aus at current exchange rates is IMO a bargain.
