Patience was needed today to image the sun while waiting for a long thin slither of cloud to move away from obscuring the sun, the rest of the sky was clear.
A few nice prominences were captured including one that had lifted off.
Used the Tak FS-60C + SM40 + BF30 + DMK51.

Nice work George. I actually had that same sliver of cloud yesterday lol. Today one cloud only about 6 X bigger than the Sun appeared out of nowhere & eclipsed the Sun for close on ten mins...I couldn't believe that, & almost packed it in forthwith thinking it was certainly a sign from someone that didn't like me to NOT image or you'll be sorry, lol!

That cloud annoyed me as I waited for hours for it to move, I was ready to pull the pin and pack up. In the end I had to flip the scope over to the other side of the meridian and then I forgot to rotate the image afterwards - it just wasn't my day.

Happens all the time George. Cloud and forgetting stuff.
You have all the ingredients in your image. What setting are using on the DMK51 and what are you post processing with. It appears a bit green and over exposed.

Ralph, I'm using IC Capture software, the settings are Gama 150, Gain set to minimum exposure 1/217th of a second, processed with CS5.

George, mostly I capture the disc separately to the proms then combine them after. gain fairly low, 50-60 gamma for the disc, at least 50% gain 150+ gamma for the proms.
