Just witnessed the best aurora I have seen this cycle and the brightest I have ever seen. Very bright when it was at KP7. Like a silver green colour from Sugars beach. Heaps of data to go through now, all the while my scope at the observatory was collecting more data on an object I am imaging. Love automation.

Anyway I will post some shots later once I have gotten over this high. I cannot believe how bright it was.

The shots coming out of Tassie show some remarkable colours.

Rainy?! There's an understatement :D I've stepped out of the shower drier than I came back from the shops this afternoon

Can auroras be grey and cover the whole sky? If so we've got a pretty awesome one here too ;)

Cheers
Steffen.

Yep, it gave my wee all-sky cam quite a workout. Very beautiful.

Hi Paul,

I caught sight of the aurora East of Esperance while fishing. I thought it may have been one but wasn't sure at the time. The skies out there were so clear as I have ever seen them and it was like I was literally floating in space every time I looked up. It feels good to know that it was an aurora and it was a rare event. Bloody cold though! Two sleeping bags, a jumper and swag and still freezing.
