After almost 3 years from the fortunate mosaic of the Vela SNR, I was eventually able to image at higher resolution this bit of the nebula I found particularly suggestive while processing the mosaic.

The Wave (http://www.glitteringlights.com/Images/deepsky/13667287_7Mtr58#!i=2554633100&k=xHkDbXt&lb=1&s=X3)

It is an 11 hours HaOIIIRGB composition, mostly spent with narrow band filters. Despite the long exposure I had to push hard during the processing to reveal the details of this very faint wisp.

I hope you will like it.

I shall call you Mr Consistency, Marco. Seriously, besides producing stunning work all the time, your Ha and OIII hues are, well, consistent throughout your entire image portfolio. Clearly you must follow a similar process for each image and this without doubt works fantastically. Amazing work as always. Thanks for sharing.

Hauntingly beautiful Marco! Just love the deep red background hues and the contrasting blues. I just want to keep looking at it!

A unique and rather beautiful image Marco. Well done on managing to showcase a part of this amazing southern sky feature in such an unusual but very effective way!

Thanks guys for your comments!! Had to apply lots of noise reduction to keep the image soft, I am happy details were preserved.. the power of PI :P

Thanks Jase, yes, I follow more or less a similar processing method, adapted to the specific objects but with the main steps the same. In particular Ha and OIII are added to the (L)RGB base the same way so I suppose is that what gives the images the consistency you mention :)

Thanks again for looking!

Thanks again for the appreciation! It is nice to imagine bits of this large complex, no matter where you point at the details and the delicate hues of Ha and OIII fills the field of view :)
