Stefan, good going, but a comment if I may.

The rocks/ballast you used for the paths is out of scale - if you consider the scale of the doors etc, the path rocks used would be insurmountable boulders to anyone entering :) Sorry, but perhaps the rock choice should be smaller grit 0 I know railway model ballast is available in smaller sizes. I would have used beach sand personally.

Otherwise, great stuff. Will it actually be visible in the completed model?

Thanks all!

Yeah I noticed that they were out of scale I didn't have anything finer at the time. At one point it was hard to change but should be easier now that everything is completed. I can scrape the gravel off and chuck sand on then paint it.

The second photo shows how much would be visible.

Stefan, beautiful work! I assume you are going to light the kit as well? I have two of these 1/350 Ent refit Polar Lights kits sitting in my study, unbuilt. I haven't been able to find time (and room) to get back into my modelling, but someday I might. It reminds me, I better suss out the HobbyTalk/Polar Lights site for a few more kits I'm interested in, just in case they 'go out of print'. Cheers, Fox

Yep doing the lighting kit as well. I want to try and buy all the stuff locally because the lighting kit is so expensive.

Stefan, please keep us informed with your progress. Agree, the lighting kits can be very expensive, although I guess one is paying for the 'plug and play' and time saving as well. Just for fun, I attach pictures of two ST kits I did a while ago. Toys R' Us were running out Bird of Prey kits for $10 each, so I couldn't resist. Also, a friend donated me his old badly built/derelict AMT Enterprise model; I completely rebuilt and re-decaled the kit. Whilst it's a 'cute' build, I now realise I made no attempt for scale, detail, nor weathering - so the end result is far too toy-like.

Nice work Stefan

It should look awesome when it's finished.

Looking forward to more progress shots.

I actually removed the gravel and painted over the path with that buff colour. The sand grains I had were larger than the gravel grains so I might just leave it out!

Will post photos soon.
