Hi,

A bit late putting this up, but better late than never. ;) I had the privilege of witnessing a beautiful sunrise annular eclipse from the Pilbara region of Western Australia, May 10.

In collaboration with Geoff Sims, we placed cameras at the south, north and centreline, hoping to see interesting distortion effects on the horizon. Overall we were successful, although cloud threatened to ruin things centre and north.

Here's the video I put together a few days later. Edited at the Newman caravan park while waiting for sunny skies.

Thanks for looking :)

Textbook level deomonstration of how the viewing prospective changes with location in the eclipse path Colin. Perfect planning and execution. The weather god should've been more kind to you at your location.

Wish my group could've catch this "squashed ring" effect Colin, which is what we were initially anticipating to see. We apparently didn't put enough efforts in planning like what you and Geoff did. Well, we'll try harder next time XD

Thanks Houghy, Peter, Ralph, Jack. Appreciate the kind words, guys.

Jack, we should pool footage mate ;) You nailed the centre. Best centre footage I've seen.

That's not a problem Colin. If you decide to redo your work by adding my footages in, just let me know and I'll send them to you~
