I took this one last month in some great seeing. AP 140/Proline.
I have some LRGB of this as well I'll post another version with LRGB stars.

I quite like the crop version as all the structure is quite visible.

Lovely, Greg! I reckon it looks more like a snail's head than a chicken :) There's something a little strange happening at the very top of the image. The first few rows are doubled?
Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks Ross. I'll be processing the LRGB stars version shortly.
Thanks Larry. I was very happy with it. The seeing was particularly good and the AP140 seemed to shine in sharpness.
Thanks Rick. Thanks for picking that artifact up. I don't see it in the original. Perhaps the upload got interrupted and it distorted or something. Odd. Anyway, fixed now.
Greg.
Great image Greg, like that palette:thumbsup:

Thanks David. Yes I am partial to that palette as well. It takes a while to get a formula going for this sort of imaging.
Thanks Marcus. It was sharper and more detailed than I expected.
Cheers for that. I think it was really good seeing that night. Plus I've got my PMX mount humming beautifully. Its some of the best tracking I've achieved with a mount.
Thanks for that. I hope to add some colour to the stars shortly.

Superb work Greg!
I think it's the best chicken I've seen, something about the colour palette that really makes it stand out.
Cheers,
Justin.

Nice one Greg. FOV fits the whole chicken nicely.

Greg...the only comment I'd make is shadow and highlights...and I'm being picky... but suspect you'd prefer "full and frank" comments.
...the image looks decidedly "flat" to me and lacks dynamic range.
Yet, so much you have absolutely nailed
(AP make such cool 'scopes :) )
Nice one

Cheers Steve.
Gee thanks Justin. It did turn out better than I expected. The great seeing had something to do with that as well.
Thaks Marc.
Yes the FOV of that setup suits a lot of common objects.
Thanks Peter. Are you referring to the darks being quite dark?
Wow, high praise, thanks very much H.
Thanks very much for that.

Thanks very much for that. I apprecate it.
Thanks a lot for that.
Greg.
Solid work, Greg. The FOV is what first caught my eye. Really enjoyed the framing, even though perhaps not intentional, its works well with the various objects on display. I can see what Peter means in flatness, but a minor distraction in my view. A cracker of an image.

Very nice image Greg; I'm not a narrowband expert but I think that the colour palette works quite well and there is a lot of nice detail in there as well

Thanks David. Narrowband does not seem to have a definite solid agreement about how its done but I agree there are some formulas that
present more pleasing results to more people than others.
I upped the curves a tad to increase the dynamic range a bit more.
