Haven't posted for a while. :)
An 8-minute exposure off the coast of Piha on the North Island of New Zealand.
This was the night that I captured my first aurora image, albeit a test image.
Canon EOS-5D Mark III, Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
480s f/4.0 at 40.0mm iso800

Thanks to Rolf Wahl Olsen for taking me out to this beautiful location!

Beautiful shot Humi. Very arty. Subdued and moody but a very interesting foreground. It looks like an abandoned Mayan Temple.
Good choice to do it black and white, it adds to the mood.

A very classy result H, I like the b/w rendition too. Easily one of the best Piha images around. As discussed, I'm sure you could produce absolutely magical photos of our North Island locations. It's a gold mine waiting for you :)

Very Nice H. The gap in the clouds is the perfect size for that almost cheeky effect of drawing you in, wanting to see a little more. Would have been a bit of tease on location as well no doubt.

Really nice :)
I love the soft feeling, it's a nice contrast to the hardness of the rocks.

Greg,
Appreciate the kind words! I had a look at this location on Google Earth and you can see that the collapsed chunks of earth are bits that have fallen off that hill. Very cool.
Greg,
Thanks, mate. :)
Mike,
Cheers! I have never been to the North Island before on a photography trip. But, I have promised that the next time I head over, it will be for the north exclusively. Rolf assures me there's lots of goodness waiting to be captured!
Troy,
Thanks, sir. :)
Bob,
Thanks so much for checking out all the subtle details. There's lots to see there. :)
I just wish that we were in a more favourable location to capture the aurora properly. Next time!
Thanks, all.

Rolf,
Thank you so much for the kind words! And, thank you, once again, for coming out all the way to the city to pick me up and take me out. It was great to meet you and spend time with you. :)
Ross,
Appreciate the kind words. :)
Carlos,
Haha, awesome -- thank you. :D
Phil,
Thank you. :D
Yeah, if there was more clouds, it wouldn't have been worth processing. But, as it is, there's /just/ enough to gather interest. I would love to see this location at sunset. It looked great in the dark as is. :)
Hugh,
Thanks, mate!
Thanks, so much, all!
