Just at the end of astro twilight a large V appears in the west, where the Milky Way and Zodiacal band meet at the horizon.

Thunder Bay. Far west coast of Western Australia.

That'd be worth submitting to Starship Asterisk for APOD consideration Colin. Stunning!

That is simply stunning, mate.

There's a location north of Sydney which offers something similar, but, I've been unsuccessful so far. :)

Thanks guys. A hard spot to get to, but well worth the effort.

Thanks mate. I think I know the spot. I used to follow a photographer from Sydney who did lots of seascapes in 2008/09 and remember platforms like this. Are they pointing east away from the LP?

That s a great photo of an unsual event. You seem to catch some good rare stuff. I guess you are out imaging a lot and the effort pays off.

That's a great one Colin!

Perfect latitude for the angles there too.. much different to some western sky shots I took here two weeks ago..
