When clouds start to roll in its not necessarily a write off for imaging.

Here the high thin clouds/ sky glow add unusual colour effects, drama and diffusion.

Great effect and detail there. What equiptment/exposures settings was used for it and how did you get the milky way so bright/contrasty.

Thanks Colin.

Yes I was surprised. Clouds often look great in time lapses so it good it worked out here too.

Cheers Humi. Its fascinating how often the low part of the sky is greenish from sky glow.

Thanks Mike. Yes I think I got a formula going here. Now to do some from more scenic locations with a small moon to light up the foreground.

Thanks Rick. I did this one quite quickly and I think that helped. Often these panoramas can be 20 to 30 minutes or more between the first and last image.

Nikon D800e,14-24, Polarie. My dark site is exactly that - very dark and seeing is often superb this time of the year. Milky Way is a stunning visual object that often is quite 3Dish and extremely imposing especially around July when its at its peak in the sky. It actually lights up the environment noticeably once your eyes have adjusted to the dark. We are very lucky here in Australia. If you go to some northern hemisphere areas the first thing you notice is the almost complete lack of stars.

Cheers Mike. Perhaps I can become the Milky Way cloud effect specialist!

Thanks Paul. I wasn't a 100% sure how it would work out. I was imaging fast because I could see cloud either forming overhead or it rolled in veyr quickly. It was almost fully clouded over shortly after I finished this set.

Cheers Larry, I am glad you liked it.

Thanks Stephen.

Thanks Carlos. I need a lake and some hills next! I have one already located.

Cheers Ian!

Thanks Greg. Yes it did turn out better than normal. A bit of drama from the clouds.

I concur.. one of your best. It's come out very well given the extreme vertical range you've got in this one which often starts to look a bit weird/distorted/stretched. Presumably two rows? What projection did you settle on? Nice work!
