This one is from a little visited spot on the far west coast of WA. You need to traverse sand dunes to get there, so high clearance 4wd only.

Taken with Canon 6D + Nikon 14-24 combo @ iso 6400, 25 s, f/2.8, 14 mm.

I processed with 3900 colour temp, so the brownish-reddish airglow is real. I often see this colour in northern WA.

Beautiful image, Colin.

Interesting you say that about the brown/red airglow. I noticed this while I was in the kimberley's. On the back of the camera it looked like aurora but I knew it couldn't be.

Thanks guys. I'm slowly working my way around WA. Still just scratching the surface though. Amazing variety of landscape and lucky to still have spots far from light pollution. That may not last sadly, with all the mines and other infrastructure popping up along the Pilbara coast.

Mike, that looks similar to what I commonly see. There seems to be a bias toward red in the north and green in the south. Many of my Bungle Bungle shots are red. The other thing I've noticed is more red in the evening, and green after midnight.

Beautiful scene Colin. The blowholes and cliffs around that area are also stunning.

Very cool shot Colin. I really love the reflections in the pond and the silky look to the ocean. Composition is really nice too.

Thanks Carlos, Matt, Josh, Paul.

Josh, you may recognize the next image. I came across it sometime around 2008. Magic spot.

I'm enjoying all your pics Colin I wish the technology was about 20 years ago still a good excuse to revisit and take some pics.

Thanks Derek, Stephen, Rolf. Very lucky with the reflection. I was originally pointing west shooting the zodiacal light (up next) and turned and noticed the reflection so swung around to get it. :)
