I'd previously posted a different version of this 'Southern Milky Way Rising' panorama, where the camera was in landscape orientation and shot 6 'vertical'.

This is a similar scene, but the camera was in portrait orientation and is 12 shots (2 rows of 6) cropped to a 3:2 ratio, 30s each, f/2.8, Canon 6D, Samyang 14mm @ ISO6400.

- Large (http://www.mikesalway.com.au/download/442)
- Blog (http://www.mikesalway.com.au/2013/06/16/emu-rising-over-the-dam-2/)

Thanks for looking.

That's a beauty Mike. Love the way you enhanced the bright stars.

Greg.

Probably your best yet, Mike.

Although, a suggestion, if I may -- is it possible to clone the sign post out?

Nice work. Sure was amazing green airglow in all your Lostock images.. especially this one Mike. So hard to know what these images 'should' look like.

Did you blur the bright stars manually or have you got a plugin for that too?

Cloning out the signpost is a good idea.. but I only do that reluctantly as well.

Thanks Greg, appreciate the feedback. Even though it's a little 'unnatural' it helps make the identifiable constellations stand out more - otherwise with such a wide-angle lens they just get lost.

Thanks Larry.

Thanks H, appreciate it.
Yeh I probably could/should clone out that post. It's a little distracting.

Thanks Phil. I know what you mean. No doubt my images are more 'colourful'/processed than some people like or present, but individual taste.. you know :) Pretty much all of my widefield images looking to the south/east during those 3 days have the airglow.

The bright stars are enhanced using StarSpikes Pro plugin for PS.

Might have to take the chop to the post.

Wow Mike that's beautiful!

I agree the post should go ;)

As for colours each to their own, this has your signature look and it's great

The Emu is sitting on your favourite trees Mike!

Nice looking photo.

I love the reflections.

Great shot Mike, just one question, how is it shots wide and 2 high with a 14mm lens?
Is there considerable overlap?

cheers

Thanks guys!

And yes, Andrew. There's heaps of overlap, and I also cropped the result because I needed it 3:2.
