An "artistic impression" of Antares rising.

Photographed in the region between Mudgee and Coonabarabran.

Sky layer imaged with Nikon 100mm F2.8 lens on QHY8L OSC CCD.

Terrestrial layer imaged with Sony a550 DSLR and Minolta 70-210 F4 lens.

Processed with Deep Sky Stacker and Photoshop CS2.

Hi Rob.

I have had an interest in imaging Deep Sky Objects from a terrestrial point of view for nearly 2 years and have experimented a lot with focal lengths from 50mm to 500mm, but it's only now that I have accumulated enough Photoshop skills to produce anything presentable.
The images are "imaginary" and "artistic". I make no claim to reality. Although I have tried to keep the focal length, FOV, latitude, azimuth and altitude constant for both the "Sky Layer" and "Terestrial Layer" that I combine.
Is this any different to the "stacking" we do with DSO's?..I don't know, and it doesn't matter.
I am having a lot of fun producing these images and I will continue developing this idea.
