Has anyone used the bintel 2" SCT craford focuser 10:1 on a meade SCT?
Are they any good for the price? I just have a 8" Meade ACF SCT and would like a craford focuser instead but not keen to spend the extra $200-300 for a moonlight. (back to limited funds as Im a family man of sorts now.)

Also, this particular SCT doesn't have the focuser lock so is there another way to lock it, even permanently if i have to.

Yes I have and it is good value and works a treat. Not quite as nice as the moonlite perhaps, but way way way better than the built in focuser.
If you want to try one out, I can post you one to play with for a while, PM me your details.

You could mod your scope to have mirror locks, this is the best solution I have seen.

Sorry, I read focus lock as mirror lock.

mmm...even that mirror lock mod looks good...but alas i am scared to take apart my SCT at the moment. I will have to have a real deep look on the net for a focus lock mod...
