Hi all

Here's an animation created from 10 images captured on the 12th June.

Only 2 out of the 10 frames were really good quality, but the rest were fairly good so I made the animation anyway.

It's a nice view showing Io shooting in behind Jupiter, Ganymede coming out from behind Jupiter, and the GRS + Red Jr transiting across the CM.

Attached is one of the better single frames from the animation.

All images captured at 5fps for approx 120 seconds. 160 frames of each channel were stacked for Jupiter, and 100 frames of each channel were stacked for each of the moons.

Without doubt, that is the best animation of Jupiter I have ever seen. The detail on Ganymede is just gob smacking!

Fantastic animation, Mike. I was getting dizzy playing it over and over.So much detail in the GRS and even some in Red Jnr. Do you keep all the settings the same for each sequence in capture and processing?

Yes Graeme, through experience i've found the best capture settings for my scope and camera (and my preference in "look") and I basically don't adjust anything now from one avi to the next, or from one session to the next.

The only thing that changes is gain, based on the transparency. I don't touch the white balance, gamma (except for focusing), frame rate, shutter speed or anything else. It means I end up with a lot of very similar looking avi's.

My processing routine is also identical for every avi in the session, based on the quality of the data and the seeing.

haha thanks Paul. My images are being analysed by the guys at ALPO now so I need to add the scientific stuff. Adds another length of time to the processing routine, but it's worth it.
