Hi all
I'm on holiday in th south island of New Zealand, I was here with a friend and we were going to shoot sunrise, sleep, then sunset and night shots a tough agenda and made more so when my friend had to go home, leaving me doing a lot of driving/scouting all alone.
I've tried and managed to shoot until about 3am the past couple of nights however I couldn't last to get the milky way spanning the sky to the west or managed to get up for a sunrise shoot yet.
Here are a couple of shots from the trip so far, there is a lot more to come.
These shots are straight out the the camera, no noise reduction or other processing.
While here I had to get a shot of the church at night, alot of people have taken similiar shots, in fact I have on my last couple of visits to Lake Tekapo. In fact it was this shot (http://www.flickr.com/photos/22165837@N04/3941032560) which was my first ever nightscape and one that started the bug.
Now nearly 4 years later and a big upgrade in the gear used here are some of the shots I've taken so far in the clear weather I've been lucky enough to have. I will also add maybe its the upgrade of the gear but there seems to be more light pollution around the church these days, plus alot more people taking shots (alot are inconsiderate) than there was 4 years ago
First shot was taken on the Canon 6D, 24mm f1,4 @ f2, 10 sec, ISO3200
No 2 canon 6D, bower 14mm f2.8 30 sec, ISO 6400
No 3 canon 6D, bower 14mm f2.8 25 sec, ISO 3200
Cant wait to see how some of these shots turn out with some noise reduction and post processing.
