Hi Guys,

After a bit of info from those that have used one or more of the cameras below for imaging what I am about to describe... Think that makes sense?

Anyway, I am thinking of a purchase in the not too distant future of a camera that can serve 2 jobs. One job would be as a meteor camera during those nice little meteor showers we have occasionally when there are no clouds about :D Which would need a fairly wide angle fast lens. The other job is so it can be used as a guide scope camera and finder through a SW102x500 Achro?

I have my eyes on either the QHY-5L II or QHY 5 II, or the one of the ASI120mm or ASI130mm.

So I look forward to your answers, please help me decide.

From the few times I have tried the ASI120MM on the home made finder guider, I have found the camera very sensitive. Not too sure about its limiting mag through the guider but it looks to be good.I find it goes well on wide field images of the sky also. The 150 deg lens included does a great job.
My camera did come with a few dust motes that I am in the process of locating/removing.
But as I have never tried any other cameras, my opinion is of course biased :D
Good luck in deciding and congrats on pulling the pin on one :)

I have a QHY5L-II colour which I use for guiding through a finder-guider and planetary video, never had a problem finding a star to guide on.
Also Gamma has these in a kit that comes with a fisheye lens as well as some other stuff: http://www.gamaelectronics.com.au/QHY5L2.html
