imaged with my PST and a a canon 300D (stock) and 2x barlow
full disk and a close up of the prominence -a crop from the same image
still long way to go but feel I'm gaining..comments, suggestions and feedback welcome

Is it settings or processing that is the main learning curve?

Slow down Rob...you now if you get one us folk in Brisbane will probably never see the sun from the clouds for 6 months.
Excellant work Narayan....that solar flaring looks looks like a lot of fun.

The PSTis piggy backed on my CG5 mount so I'm tracking..but these are actually two single images combined-one 1/50 of a second (for the prominences) and one at 1/1200 of a second for the surface detail.Pretty Standard Operating procedure for PST work I gather.So the only reason for tracking is to make life easier, its not mandatory, esp when imaging with a digital camera. Think it would quite be a bit harder with a toUcam without tracking
