Nice Michael, :)
I reckon a crop of Top and bottom would make this a much more pleasing photo .
Cheers:thumbsup:

D800 - right on bro!

Nice image.

Those Samyang fisheyes are good but distortion can be a real pain. This shot is good and does not have much distortion. The streaked stars at the top of the image may have been reduced with a different projection method. Perhaps not. Its worth experimenting. Its a bit of a thing with panoramas 360 degrees that this occurs without more specialist gear.

Greg.

Thanks for the feedback guys!!! I appreciate it!

I should have stated it is the 180/360 deg projection. It's impossible to do without stretching the stars at the top and ground at the bottom as they actually form a single point (well presented in a rectangular form they do anyway).
But your point is taken - I should have cropped it for the photo as it is unsightly!!

I am uploading the panorama file to 360 cities now, I'll post the link when it's done. (should be worth a look ;-)
Thanks for the feedback and I will be more careful in my presentation....

Here is the link to the panorama on 360 cities - it's and little grainy, but still worth a look!

A great effort, I like the blur it adds to the shot I think, personal preference. Always going to get that with a fisheye stitching anyway.

Great job, looking at it on my small screen I think the road and central bulge of the milky way would make a great shot in its own right.

Mike, just for you.

OK - for those that don't use a specific panorama program, Photoshop or Gimp will do it.
(1) Have a 360x180 panorama (this is the hard bit ;))
(2) Constrain it to a square (force it to be 1x1 ratio), don't crop it! - Yes it looks stretched.
(3a) (option a) Spin it 180 Deg - to make a little planet. (attached)
(3b) (option b) don't spin it - to make a hole. (attached)
(4) Apply a polar coordinate filter.
that's it!!

If you are feeling adventurous you can change the center of the original image and / or rotate to get everything in between!!
