Goodness me - i was granted a leave pass to go and take some images of this tonight by my lovely wife - then had to return quickly to cook family a BBQ.
it was a gorgeous sight to behold that's for sure.
mix of canon60D and 650D with a 18-50mm lens and a 70-250mm lens (standard canon ones)

Some corkers in there, David. It's amazing how fast the planets seem to sink behind the horizon. I was moving my camera into a portrait orientation and before I knew it, Mercury was gone!

Eastern side from memory - we hired a house right on the lake - not the most sought after destination but we chose to use our money for a house deposit.
Man, that is now 17 years ago - thanks for the flashback!

there are some classic homes on the lake - some with complete water frontage.
i did contemplate going to Belmont South overlooking swan bay out towards mt sugarloaf but the travel time was going to get me. so i settled on warners bay. I wanted to get somewhere a bit shielded from the evening breeze and get some calm water to get the reflections

do you remember how long you waited after sunset? I read online that I had to wait around 30min after sunset but by then they all had disappeared :(
