Hi Hans
Eucalyptus oil works quite well also.
Dab a bit on a clean rag and wipe the affected area, make sure rinse and wipe down the area with clean water afterwards.
I was just reading that link about WD40, blimey is there anything that stuff can't do?

Turpentine is also good. Won't harm the paint. Use as per Eucalyptus.

Thanks all for your suggestions. I did try the Eucalyptus oil idea today but it didn't really work so I will look at the other suggestions.

I didn't know that one, Brent! I'll certainly try it, as my car is white and shows every tar spot.
