I took this image about 6 weeks ago at my dark site under excellent seeing and conditions.
AP140 F7.5, PMX.

Excellent Greg, I like it, can be such a cool looking field in narrowband,....and the composition looks veeeery familiar, those fighting dragons look fierce ;)
Funny, our resolutions look about the same too and I was using a 12" and you a 4.5" shows how crap my seeing was in Newcastle...perhaps I should shoot it again now that my conditions have improved ...and I have an observatory now too :D..well nearly :P
Great job mate :)

That's luuuurvly. Like the colour choices, and that you got the planetary bottom right.

That's superb, Greg!

Yes it is quite a wide field and as you say an interesting comparison. The seeing was good and the PMX was humming so tracking was superb.
Then again if you did the same with good seeing and your dark skies you would get an even better image. It certainly is NGC6188 season right now.

Great color palette. Nice details too. Something's up with the blues though they look a bit muted in the stars. Star profile are a little flat. No gradient in the disc.

Thanks David. I tried a few times to get the colour right.
Cheers Rick.
Thanks Peter. I was happy with the performance of this little scope.
Thanks Marc. The stars were something I had attention on during processing. I intended to shoot some RGB for the stars last trip but did not get the chance. I'll work on them some more. Unfortunately that means going back a fair way in the processing chain but I think its worth it. As you know the original stars are purplish with that palette. I don't think I got the formula just right on the stars yet.

Evocative imagery.
Just something wonderful about the contrast of fluorite

That's a corker Greg! Well done!
Cheers, Marcus
Fantastic work Greg! I adore this area of the sky in narrowband. You've certainly done it justice. Marc has a keen eye, I noticed the blue channel too. OIII is suppressed due to the overall SII cast. Raising the black point by 31 counts on the red channel in photoshop using levels begins to restore this. I'd be inclined to colour combine or rework clipping masks again to determine if there is a better way (than levels) to achieve the task. Well done. More please...
Fantastic image, love the detail in the planetary as well as the rest of course and a very nice pallet. Top job:thumbsup:

Yes I think so too Lewis. Its hard to put your finger on sometimes but I believe it is there.
Thanks Marcus!
Cheers Jase. You might be onto something there. I'll be doing more work on this one. Thanks for that.
Thanks David. I was happy with the overall look. That little planetary is a worthwhile target all by itself.
Thanks very much.

You just inspired me to point the scope somewhere else Greg. The FOV is just awesome from this combo. Would love to see you add more data to this at some stage.

Thanks Bob. I knew NGC6188 looks best in narrowband from other posts here. And my little TEC packs quite a punch.
Thanks Ross. I was very happy with the data as it came off the camera.
Thanks Niharika. It is a wide FOV. More data is possible next trip.

I did a repro on this one to work on the stars and keep them intact.

Excellent repro Greg! The SHO palette appears more balanced than the original showing the different features of the emission lines evenly. Some RGB stars would go a long way on this image. Well done.

Thanks Jase. Yes I think it worked out a lot better. RGB stars was definitely on the list of things to do last imaging session but the Vela Mosaic was number 1. Also it required changing to the AP140 which I did not want to do at 1am.
Next trip for sure.

Really liking that final rendition Greg. Love a nice 6188 - could gaze at it for a long time.

Thanks Rob. I should post the Ha only as well. It has tremendous detail in it.

I corrected the post. The scope was my AP140 not TEC110.
