A Jupiter shot from last night taken with the Mintron 62V1P-Ex color security video camera at prime-focus of the LXD-75 SN-8. Looks like this telescope can be used for planetary imaging (4x Powermate x 2xBarlow), and not just for DSO imaging, which means this telescope is proving to be a nice all-rounder.
Jupiter looked almost this good on my TV with the live feed. At around 65 degrees elevation the seeing really settled down and there were brief moments where the atmospheric turbulence and the scope's tube currents appeared to still. Nice.
My new rule #1 for planetary imaging. If I can't see any detail on the TV with the live feed I won't expect too much from the processed images.
