Hi All,

NGC2070 & NGC2100 in Dorado. Another of the Tarantula Nebula and the open cluster NGC2100. Both from the Large Magellanic Cloud, a dwarf galaxy companion of the Milky Way. 57 mins of exposures, (19 x 3 minutes) taken on the 5th Feb 2013. Some more from the "forgotten files".....not perfect, but it was fun processing this one, a bit different from my other attempts....

Very nice Chris! I just bought myself an Atik 314L+ colour camera, so when I recover from my ankle problems, I hope to be able to take some good images, too :)

Thanks Laurie,

Excellent! Welcome to the club, I am glad you took the plunge on it, you have mentioned it was on the list a few times when viewing my images.....lol. I look forward to some more Atik goodness from you!

Cheers

That's good Chris

The blue gives the Tarantula a bit of depth.

Nice.

Thanks Ross, the eldest son Anthony has been teaching me the rule of thirds in photography, so it seems it may have rubbed off.....:)

Yup, the Atik I think has its highest QE in blue and I love how it picks up some blue hues in mainly reddish nebs. I saw the almost 3D effect it gave the main clouds when I colour balanced it, so I left it as is. I am still having problems with star cores using DSS, so I may revisit this later with Nebulosity stacking and see what happens......

Thanks Rod, :)

Cheers

Thanks David, I appreciate the support, I am getting a nice collection together now....

Cheers!

Thanks Bob, yes, it's a bit of a lazy one for me, but I think there was some moon around, so I stuck with the bright stuff.... The camera picks up sooooo much more in less time it really does make it worth the extra money over a DSLR.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Cheers

Chris
