Hi Guys.
What a journey it's been to get to this stage. I've basically changed everything in my set up. New mount, new camera, new software. I've had nothing but issues with this new mount since I got it but think I'm finally getting there, pointing is now good and guiding is good as well I just need to get these damn limits on the mount right, it's killing my pointing model on a nightly basis, think I'll need a new me after all this.
I've had the camera for about a month now but haven't had any RGB filters so I've only really been "testing" the camera up until now. I bought myself the Astronomik LRGB 2" filters on Friday and haven't went to bed since.
First thing I have to say is WOW, the noise on this camera (SBIG STF8300m) compared to my 5D MKII is night and day. These images are so much easier to calibrate it's funny.
This image is about 6.5hrs of Omega cen. For the lum I used my CLS filter as I have quite bad Light pollution here.
L 1hr 40min
R 1hr 36min
G 1hr 36min
B 1hr 36min
Processed in Pixinsight thanks to Harry's tutorials, my processing chops need some development to say the least. The colours in this don't seem right and I've probably overcooked it
I made quite a of a dogs breakfast on cataloging the subs due to not changing the prefix's for the file names for each colour, then got confused as to what stack was what colour and so on. So may have actually mapped the green stack to red or something, well something isnt quite right. It's a learning opportunity thats for sure.
I didnt use any bias or flat frames for these as it was way to much bother to do every time I changed filters, need to get a filter wheel pronto.
All in all I'm really enjoying the camera and new mount.
Pointers are always welcome I could do with some advice.
Higher res vesion here (not much higher)

Thanks
Sandy
