It was a cold night and a late start, the scope dew heaters stopped working, the 12V power supply blew up and my backup batteries were not fully charged but the sky was so clear and dark, with less than 3hours of battery life available I imaged Eta Carinae and Omega Centauri then setup for a few hours of manual push to viewing .

Omega Centauri Globular Cluster NGC 5139
180 x 15 sec subs at iso 1600, darks and bias (45mins data)
12' LX200 (alt/az setup, no guiding)
Sony Nex-3 DSLR
Stacked in DSS
Processed in GIMP

Eta Carinae Nebula NGC 3372
360 x 25sec subs at iso 1600, darks and bias (150mins data)
12' LX200 (alt/az setup, no guiding)
Sony Nex-3 DSLR

Great images, Wayne! Omega Centauri has a lovely 3D look to it.

Great pics with a 12" SCT and a NEX-3. Very nice. Eta's very cool.

Congratulations, Wayne ! They are very nice. Eta deserves a more fine treatment to highlight his inner details.
Good work with DSLR. Despite of guiding lack, 15 sec subs were good choice to produce a good shape of the stars.
