Was hoping to get a few more clear nights but got tired of waiting. Currently processed with 7hrs ha, 7 hrs sii and 1.5 hrs of oiii. individually Ha looks ok but both sii and oiii needs more data.

Taken with the new Mount AP1600 which has been excellent so far and the TEC160 + STL + Astrodon 3nm combo. Exposures are mostly 30 minbut there are a few 60 min ones as well.

A stunning result with an eye-catching depth of field that you've processed extremely well. Top work! Thanks for sharing.

I think this is one that needs some image size to properly appreciate the effort, looks pretty cool though.

Some nice kit you are using, wow

Thanks Mike :). I was hoping to get away with the noise issue in blue with the small image size :p. Other than that I still need to set up a site or account to post larger size images.

A lovely image.

I almost looks like it has been painted or air brushed.

Great work.

Holy cow that is a great image! Not particularly a fan of that bit of green up top but that's just my personal taste. Did you bin the O111/S11 data? In my opinion its not worth the time using 1x1 binning on them. They generally have little detail but if they do you can always swtich to 1x1.

AP1600/TEC160FL - wow! what a setup. Do you have photos of your setup? That would be as impressive an image as your fine IC2944 is! How do you find the AP1600? A review would be great.

Thank you Ric and Greg.

Greg this was the first time was imaging this with narrow band so wasn't sure what to expect in OIII and SII. Looking at it SII seems to have some detail which might be of worth, but in OIII I haven't seen much detail after combining the 3x 30min exposures so I might bin it as you suggested. I have started writing a review on ap1600 and will post it once complete.

Yes that is an awesome looking mount. It looks extremely well made and will provide years of faithful, fussfree service.

And the TEC160FL - oooh, but then I am partial to TEC fluorite!

Yep a Starfire on top would be a dream come true. I remember soon after depositing for the ap1600 there was a lottery draw run by ap for their new ap175. Winners would only have to pay but didn't have to be in the waiting list. Unfortunately I tried my luck and failed as usual.

Nah, TEC160FL would be the better choice in my opinion.

Nice blue transparency in the image. I too would like to see a larger image. The scale is a bit small. I think using and collecting the data at 1x1 has more advantages. You can add 1x1 colour to get your star colours and it will give you a different perspective with the use of narrow band and broad band data. Your sub length will overwhelm background noise quickly and so I don't agree that using binning will improve things. Well done. Nice rig too.
