Took a while to nail the processing, but here is my eclipse sequence at about
20% resolution

Ha, very cool... you've got to include two more in between in the sequence and get the olympic rings happening. :)

:lol: Olympic rings? Maybe not. I rather like the upper left image as it caught just the chromoshpere around the top edge.

Thin cloud caused small variations in the images, but at full -res there are lots of spickules etc.

Nice Pete. It might be an optical illusion but it looks like the sun is slight oblate in the middle image. I wonder if the sun is oblate. Not having a high spin rate I suspect this is an optical illusion.

:question: All three layer up perfectly in PS6.0 so I'd say it an optical illusion...that said the chromosphere is a slightly different brightness (due shifting high cloud)

Nice work Peter!

Re- optical illusion.

I think Peter indicated he was not exactly on the center line - a few km north of the center line? You don't have to be far off to see the lunar disk off centre. I don't think the sun is oblate just that the lunar disc is slightly off center due to your location.

Indeed we were about 15-20 km north of the centerline.

It was an 11th hour call to stay at Banka Banka due problems with my Mac's external battery. (my wife tells me I was quietly going into meltdown when it failed)

There were some intrepid souls who set-up on the ridge west of the camp ground, but I chose to stay close to A/C power in case the battery failed... which it did....but fortunately could be re-set with the A/C charger as a result.

No idea...probably the moon was a 1/4 way across...but I think I hit power problems at that point.

Recon the best is the one showing the chromoshpere.
