I need to get some flat black paint for areas inside the new Dob and cant get Krylon ultra flat till July but can get the regular flat black. Anyone tried it or have an equivalent alternative ?

There seem to be a whole host of options for blackening tubes - Krylon, flat black paint, blackboard paint, black felt, flocking sheets, mixing flat black paint with something rough, etc, etc.
I used flat black paint for a refractor tube and am very happy with the result (plus some painted fly screen instead of baffle...).
I've also used self adhesive felt for a light shield in a single pole dob I made - bought the felt at Spotlight.

Chalk board paint does a decent job.
Another option is Ceiling Paint Black (http://www.dulux.com.au/specifier/product/dulux-interior-products/ceiling/product-detail?product=2147) although I would go down to the local dulux centre and see if you can get some in a smaller tin :)

I have used blackboard paint to VERY good effect. I make my own dew shields, and spray them exclusively with blackboard paint (White Knight brand) - even shining a torch in there elicits negligible/nil reflection.

Another vote for chalkboard paint.
