Hi everyone,

What a wonderful eclipse adventure!!!

We had a great view from a site at a repeater station north of Churchill head.

Had the wonderful privilege of observing and photographing the eclipse next to Jay Pasachoff.

Some images attached.

Also have look at

Hi Richard,

Missed seeing you at SPSP this year and now I know why your weren't there!

Sounds like a great adventure and I have been looking forward to seeing some
photos and yours are the first I have seen of the event. Fantastic!

Take care.

P.S.

Does that happen to be you and Margaret in the background at the 0:50 mark on the ABC video? :)

Hi Gary,

Sorry I could not make the SPSP this year but this was too good an opportunity to miss. Margaret and I are behind the presenter at the end of the video. The ABC, local newspaper and the high school at tennant creek took a great interest in the eclipse and it was a busy time showing people the eclipse through the telescopes, observing it myself and trying to photograph it!

best regards,

Richard.

Unfortunately I was in a rush and could only get 400 ASA ???????

So I was a couple of stops over exposed. I didn't have an ND filter either.

It's all very vexing.

These photos are straight from the BigW supplied disc. I will scan the negs with a higher resolution and see if I can get anymore detail from them.

Hi,

Some H-alpha images of the partial phases uploaded. All the images were taken with my Canon 450D DSLR held up to the eyepiece of the PST. This also allowed me to move from one telescope to the other quickly.
