Hi all,

I haven't posted an image in ages. I don't get time to process much these days.. Although I do shoot a lot of data.

I ran into Warren Keller in the USA. He asked if I could shoot cent A for him, which I did. Turns out I didn't quite get my focuser offsets right, and the green channel was a lot out of focus, and the blue was out a touch.

The data was processed by Warren start to finish. To overcome the issues mentioned above shows what processing skills he has. Warren is now using pixinsight and has a PI training DVD out with Rogelio Andreo. He is part way through the 2nd series in the PI series.

wow, that central detail is so cool, when compared to this http://www.pbase.com/strongmanmike2002/image/97061387/original, now to get the two together that would be a treat - galactic cirrius and the core detail...... and i really thing that PI rules ;)

Really nice Centaurus A there Brett with a nice bright galaxy halo :thumbsup:..not sure on the rose red colour in the dust lane :question:.. but a fine image none the less, well done to you both :thumbsup:

Houghy: That full frame version of mine was processed to keep the brightness differential/enormous dynamic range real across the frame, ie if you can see the ultra faint galactic cirrus then the galaxy must be proportionally bright or the image looks silly, thus the inner detail will be very bright and some detail gets blown out (someone coined the term "respecting the light"...:confuse3:). The version (well one of :whistle: ) processed to reveal the inner detail without galactic cirrus (using the same data set) is THIS (http://www.pbase.com/strongmanmike2002/image/97014931/original) one :thumbsup:

Beautifully sharp and you got lots of the halo but the core is not red so that is a processing error.

Gotta be happy with that Brett. Well done. Data acquisition is on the money but its a shame about the filter offsets. Structural detail looks super crisp its quite eye catching. Is this the finished result or will you go hit the colour data again?

I have already reshot the blue and green channel (approx 15x 600 subs per channel). I just haven't sent them to Warren as yet.
